Essential Anatomy 5 App Reviews

Quite good

This app is light years ahead of the old 2 dimensional versions I had when I studied to become a physical therapist 20 years ago. Vital missing link is the missing landmarks on bones (tubercles etc) which one needs to insert in order to know the precise origins & insertions of muscles. Totally worth the cost. Using the muscles 2 app in conjunction with this app allows one to really get a picture of how the various muscles function.

Great app

Fantastic app for anatomy in medical school!

iPad pro support

Can this app utilize the iPad pros Apple pencil to cut like real anatomy course?

SRNA

One my favorite apps ever. I use it for anesthesia school, and its very helpful from all the way from care plans to peripheral never blocks.

Anatomy students

My whole class ended up purchasing this app thanks to a student who mentioned it us. Do most of my studying on it. Must buy for anyone in the medical field or looking to get an A. This app made it easy to review for our exams and practical.

Interactive map of the human masterpiece.

If you live in a human body, and you want to know more about your home, then you will love this app! Its like the coolest interactive 3-D video game where you can travel to anywhere in the human body, and find detailed info and amazing imagery. I didnt find the spirit though, they should add that in the next edition ;)

Literally essential.

I bought this app before entering medical school, on the recommendation of a current med student as it was on sale. I didnt realize what an enormous help it would be until we started anatomy a few months later, but now I couldnt live without it. It combines the precise anatomical accuracy of a textbook with the real-world feel of a cadaver, while being infinitely easier to understand than either one. If I want to follow the exact course of an artery or see the attachment points of a muscle, theres really no better resource. Id give it 500 stars if I could.

Anybody studying anatomy should have this app.

The ability to hide muscles and see relationships of underlying vasculature and nerves is amazing. The app is really powerful and worth watching the intro video (I knew things about the possibilities the app possessed that my class, ages didnt because of it). Lastly the portability (it loads onto your iPhone with no extra cost) allows you to take it anywhere. Bus, ski slope, clinic, wherever. A must buy.

Great app

Great app but I think the ligaments of the knee are not depicted.

Essential for A&P

Must-buy for any A&P/med student. Much more helpful to be able to rotate and see body systems in 3D than just in a 2D paper atlas.

Fix the Info Box Please!

Great app with one very annoying design flaw that costs one star. I’m a doctor and longtime college educator teaching Anatomy and Physiology. I love this app. What I don’t love is the information box that pops up every time I select a bone or muscle or other piece of anatomy. The information is great, but there should be an option to disable the popup to allow an instructor to quiz students without the answer appearing on the screen. The info box also superimposes itself over important structures, and must be moved manually every single time to view the anatomy. This is very irksome when moving from structure to related structure. My recommendation to the developer is to provide an option in the Control menu or Settings to toggle the popup info box on or off, and also a second option to allow ‘fixing’ the info box to a particular location on the screen so that the info box, when toggled on, doesn’t overshadow the anatomy in the middle of the screen. In other words, provide an option that would let you place the info box in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, where it would stay put until moved to a different screen location. Fix this well-intentioned info box from hades, and you’ve got my vote for five stars!

Awesome app!

Super helpful app. I can study bones and muscles on the fly for anatomy lab!

Great app

This is by far the best investment I made in app store. I recommend this app for anyone.

Very basic Skeleton and no joints

The paid version $24.99 has exactly the same-very basic skeleton as free version. There is no information on Joints at all. You will need to purchase them separately at 5.99$ each. To me, bone structure and joints are "essential", Im disappointed and surprised that neither are included for the price I paid for. I contacted the company, they were very responsive, patient and explained to me their ads did indicate the content. I was refunded for my purchase. Great customer services! In terms of the app itself: the graph is very good, easy to learn and navigate. As long as you understand what youre getting, then its probably the best app. you can get in todays market.

Best anatomy app

As a premed/forensic science student, I needed an app that was both detailed and easy to use. This app is by far the best anatomy app Ive used. It allows you to get a 3D image of the body, isolate parts of the body, write notes about different parts, and it also tells you facts about the part of the body you highlight. Id recommend this app for anybody who has to study anatomy from high school to grad school.

Wow

No other anatomy app even comes close! My massage clients love seeing what muscles we are going to work on, and why.

Essential for student and professional

The only anatomy model you have in pocket. Dont names of different landmarks on bones like mental foramen, do not mention names for teeth surface anatomy but never the less a professional can identify it.

Great app, needs more precision

I would like to recommend to depict Middle Branch nerves in the spine. Its clinically important for neurologist and pain management, and as well as for educational purposes.

Lovely, but...!

Please make quiz option more apt to customization and able to test more than 12 ?s.

Excellent 3D Anatomy Pocket App

This app is an excellent source for pocket review of muscle, bones, organs, nerves, arteries, veins, etc. You will still need an excellent book to companion this app to for certain skeletal landmarks. But your understanding of anatomy will be greatly enhanced by adding this app!
